In 1978, a group of researchers managed to find several finds in the Kunlun Mountains. After that, the authorities decide to carry out large-scale work to find valuable relics that are stored in these places. During the search, researchers quickly manage to find the remains of some strange creature. Later, a huge explosion occurs, as a result of which a secret passage opens in the cave, which leads somewhere. When the government finds out about this news, they immediately decide to organize an expedition that would be able to explore this area and tell everyone about it. A young guy, Hu Bayi, asks to join the volunteer team, who decides to go on this trip only for the sake of his girlfriend. During the preparation, all the members of the expedition do not even guess what kind of nightmare awaits them ahead.<br />

During such a terrible expedition, not everyone can survive in such conditions. When Hu Baiyi does manage to return home, he talks about exactly what happened to him and his comrades in the mountains. He is well aware that demons live nearby, so he does not want to disturb them. Over time, these demons begin to attack ordinary residents and only Hu Bayi manages to cope with them. After that, he recruits daredevils and decides to join the battle against these creatures.<br />
